On the occasion of the Netherlands’ guest appearance at the Leipzig Book Fair, Galerie Hochdruckpartner has asked 8 visual artists and a composer, to make new work based on the inspiring poetry of Peter van Lier (NL).
The composer Cees Hiep (NL) wrote a music composition for harpsichord and voice, and the artists Eleonora Damme (DE), Jacomijn den Engelsen (NL), B.C. Epker (NL), Susann Hoch (DE), Hanneke van der Hoeven (NL/DE), Andrea Lange (DE), Inez Odijk (NL), Gabriele Sperlich (DE) made woodcuts, linocuts and an artists’ book.
Exhibition opening on Friday, 22 March 2024, at 7:45 p.m. at Hochdruckpartner gallery in Leipzig. Peter van Lier will read from his poems, and pianist/composer Ermis Theodorakis (GR/DE) will perform for the very first time, the fabulous music composition ‘Koerend keren / Gurrend sich wenden’ of Cees Hiep.
Duration of exhibition: 23 March – 25 Mai 2024
Opening hours: Wed.-Fri. 14–18 p.m. / Sat. 12–17 p.m. and by appointment.
Special opening hours for the book fair: Sat (March 23rd) 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sun (March 24th) 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
