On Saturday 23 May, a new edition of Page Against the Machine took place: a Silent Book Club in the open air. Plenty of reading was done in the new park next to Campus Fryslân, on the Willemskade.
It was a lovely sight: visitors on their own chairs, on beanbags from Tresoar and on deckchairs from CoL. Phones went off, books went open. The little free library emptied out nicely, with both Frisian-language and Dutch-language books eagerly carried off into the grass.
Page Against the Machine is an initiative by City of Literature Norwich and The Book Hive, and is part of Silent Book Club Fryslân.
