On 6 and 7 September, the poet Tsead Bruinja, musician Zea and photographer Rosa van Ederen and guest poet Alara Adilow visited Residential Care Center Suderigge in Lemmer. They made personal portraits with and for Messrs. Van Halen and Hosper and ladies Wouda and Bos.
Tsead about the visit to Suderigge: “First of all, we were very impressed by how friendly the staff were with the residents. They really got all the attention. Secondly, the visit was a wonderful lesson for us about the history of the region, about the beginning of the Noordoostpolder and the work that was done there by, for example, farm workers and the people who came to inspect the water level in the ditches for the Domains and the Water Boards. During the final presentation we also enjoyed one of the residents who played many old songs on the accordion. The whole room sang along and sometimes even helped him on his way if he couldn’t remember a song well.”
