Leeuwarden UNESCO City of Literature is building a sustainable and solid literary infrastructure. We always do this within the following policies:
Professionalization
Promoting a good infrastructure for the professionalization of talented writers, poets and translators.
Reading promotion
To interest the public in reading and literary activities.
SDG collaboration
Initiating and supporting projects in Fryslân in which literature is used to realize a livable future and broadly opening up Frisian literature.
Arcadia
Always joining the LF2028 triennial with a large-scale, literary program. For the first time during Arcadia 2022 (May 7 – August 14).
Internationalization
Increasing the international visibility of writers/poets from Fryslân and stimulating encounters and exchanges across the border.
