With every new season, Leeuwarden UNESCO City of Literature releases a matching poetic bookmark, available for pickup at bookstores in Fryslân. Because March 21st marks not only the start of spring but also World Poetry Day, we are sharing an animated version of the poem and illustration as well.
This time, the poem was written by Tryntsje van der Steege, a student at the Skriuwersfakskoalle, where we posed a request for a poem to the poetry students. You can read the Dutch and English versions by scanning the QR code on the bookmark. Throughout this year, the illustrations are being created by Redmer Hoekstra.

The bookmark is available at a large number of bookstores in Fryslân. Ask for it when you buy a book or collection.
