The poetic video clip for the Frisian-language song Komt ien oan by ZEA has been nominated for the New Talents Award at the Poetry Film Tage festival in Weimar (Germany). The international short film festival takes place from June 4 to 6.
ZEA (Arnold de Boer) created the song in collaboration with the sixteen-piece drumband Hallelujah Makkum. The album In lichem fol beloften was released last year and received rave reviews both domestically and internationally. The BBC played it, and the Volkskrant gave the live show five stars.
The video was made by Dutch comic artist and filmmaker Guido van Driel. It is based on a poem by Nelly Sachs, a German-Swedish poet who won the Nobel Prize in Literature. The poem deals with refugees and hospitality. Arnold de Boer translated it into Frisian and composed music for it. The video clip uses vintage postcards, clay figures, and toy knights as illustrations.
