A poetry tableau is unveiled as part of the Leeuwarden poetry route. It is a poem about the history of Nijehove, the important founding location of present-day Leeuwarden. The hardstone poetry tableau will have a prominent place in the city: between the Oranjepoortje of the Great Church and the grounds of the Jacobijner Church cemetery.

The poem is written by Judith Nieken, known for her window poems in the Bollemanssteeg (renamed ‘poetry alley’) and for the poem that informant Sybrand Buma left behind after completing his work in the Dutch Parliament. As a resident of the city centre, Judith Nieken knows Nijehove better than anyone.

Arnold Mulder (chairman of Rotaryclub Nijehove) and Geart de Vries (chairman of the Poetry Tableau Foundation) will give speeches. After that, Judith Nieken will recite the poem. The stone will be unveiled by Judith Nieken and initiator Peter de Haan.

Everyone who cares about the city of Leeuwarden or feels connected to literature is welcome.

The project was made possible by the jubilant Rotaryclub Nijehove and Sint Anthoon.
