Marga Claus was born in Leeuwarden and moved to Oosterend as a child. Her debut novel was published in 2000. It was based on the true life story of a Ukrainian refugee who arrived in the Netherlands via Afghanistan. Her latest novel, Libbe (2024), is partly based on her father’s life.
