At the invitation of the Heerenveen Literary Activities Foundation (SLAH), Janneke Siebelink is coming to Heerenveen. Janneke was born in 1974 in Ede, in a house full of stories. Her father is writer Jan Siebelink. After her study at the Frederik Muller Academy in Amsterdam, she worked for years for the online bookstore bol.com. There she founded lees.bol.com and organised and presented numerous lectures and events.
Her first novel Soms sneeuwt het in april (2022) tells the story of a girl growing up with the weight of her mother’s war trauma on her shoulders. A moving and compelling story based on true events. In her second book December slaan we even over (2023), Janneke reports on touching and instructive encounters in a hospice. About what people in their final phase of life can teach us about existence. Her third book Een vorm van troost (2025) was published by De Geitepers. In it, the writer tells, among other things, about her grief over the death of her mother. In autumn 2025, her fourth book Een verdwaalde zomerdag was published. This book shows how trauma can affect generations, until someone is strong enough to stop giving in to it.
