Brewery and restaurant Het Brouwdok in Harlingen hosts Ferhalefjoer – a place for stories every month. It’s the perfect place to listen to stories, share stories, and even tell your own if you’d like. Each meeting has a theme. A storyteller will tell a story (in Dutch) of approximately 20 minutes. Afterwards, there’s time for discussion and for the evening’s participants to share their stories.
The theme of this first evening is “New Beginnings”. Everyone who loves stories is welcome at 7:30 PM; registration is not required. Admission is free, and refreshments are at your own expense. A voluntary contribution to the organization can be made on-site.
Ferhalefjoer is an initiative of storytellers Frank Belt, Ingrid Halfhide, and Baukje Koolhaas. It draws inspiration from ancient storytelling traditions and also loosely builds on the annual “Verhalenavond” (storytelling evening), which has been held in Friesland since 2018.
