Museum Dokkum opens its doors for a special Book Week afternoon full of stories, makers and encounters. Visitors who bring the Book Week Gift Piaggio by Hendrik Groen receive free admission! Without the gift, a special discount applies.
The museum is completely dedicated to books and stories, with cosy reading corners throughout. A small book market features books about Dokkum and the region, presented by Boekhandel Van der Velde and others.
Meet different creators: comic artist Skelte Braaksma talks about his work, including Redbad and Swalker – a story about a post-apocalyptic Friesland largely submerged underwater. Writer and illustrator Vera Damhuis leads short storytelling workshops inspired by the museum’s dollhouse.
Bibliotheek Noard Fryslân organizes a creative Book Art workshop where visitors create artwork in a book. Book reviewer Myrthe Westra (Boekbewonderaar on Instagram/TikTok) will discuss books and reading tips with visitors.
