For the next two years, every last Wednesday of the month Geart Tigchelaar (as the new Regional Poet Noardeast-Fryslân) will be present on the market of the city Dokkum. He will be carrying a sandwich board with poem. A poem from himself, from a predecessor or from other poets (who were born in the vicinity of Dokkum, for example).
With the “merkgedicht” (market poem) he wants to draw attention to poetry in an original way. He is financially supported in this by Leeuwarden City of Literature. Today, Wednesday January 27, Tigchelaar starts with a poem that he himself wrote for the Poetry Week, which starts tomorrow with the theme: “together”.
