Europeesk Buro for Lytse Talen (EBLT) and Mercator European Research Centre for Multilingualism and Language Learning, in collaboration with Slieker Film, are organising a screening of the film Mittagsstunde on Wednesday, February 21, International Mother Language Day. International Mother Language Day is an initiative of the United Nations.

The Dutch premiere of the successful German film Mittagsstunde by director Lars Jessen is based on the bestseller of the same title by writer Dörte Hansen. Two versions of the film were made: one with dialogues in Plattdeutsch, and one with dialogues in Hochdeutsch. The EBLT presents the Plattdeutsch version, with subtitles in Frisian.
