Can a story save someone?
In Alleen een Wonder (Only a Miracle), the Flemish writer and theatre maker Johannes Lievens tells the story of someone who is saved by a kiwi plant, someone who is undone by five digits, and someone whose life is transformed by an encounter at the foot of the Himalayas. Together with drummer Orlan Ghekiere, Johannes is feverishly travelling through the night, searching for something to hold on to.
Alleen een Wonder is an ode to unexpected turns. Can a story save someone? Johannes explores the question together with you. The performance premiered at Explore the North Festival 2025 and will be shown on June 18 at Oerol Festival.
