After a blazing start at Havenbrouwerij Het Brouwdok, Ferhalefjoer is moving outside for the summer months. In May, June and July, the storytelling fire will be lit in the garden of the Hannemahuis. In this green oasis, everyone can come and be immerse in stories.

Place for stories

Every first Thursday of the month, the Ferhalefjoer – place for stories – burns in Harlingen. The place to listen to stories or tell your own. This initiative by storytellers Frank Belt, Ingrid Halfhide and Baukje Koolhaas is inspired by old storytelling traditions.

The launch of Ferhalefjoer – place for stories in Harlingen at the end of 2025 was a success: many visitors and beautiful stories shared with each other.

Opportunities

Each Ferhalefjoer has a theme. In May it will be ‘Opportunities’. While spring is perhaps at its most beautiful and we find ourselves in the time when we celebrate our freedom, we tell each other about the opportunities that arise. Those that become a success, fail or something in between. Of new beginnings, growth and horizons, of falling and getting up again. One of the storytellers opens and closes the evening with a story. In between, everyone is warmly invited to tell their own story. A personal story, a story you once heard or read, anything is possible. Just listening is also an option.

Join Ferhalefjoer this spring and summer in the Hannema Garden on 7 May, 4 June and 2 July. It starts at 7:30 PM and lasts approximately one hour. Entrance via the front door of the Hannemahuis in Harlingen. In bad weather it takes place inside. Coffee and tea will be provided. Admission is free. A voluntary contribution is welcome.
