The kick-off of the Fryske Boekewike 2021 is broadcasted on Saturday evening 6 March at 8 p.m. on Omrop Fryslân television from the Westerkerk in Leeuwarden. Special guest is the writer of the Frisian gift book, Hilda Talsma. The broadcast, with interviews, music and previews, is the festive kick-off of the Fryske Boekewike. The Fryske Boekewike takes place from 6 to 14 March.
Hilda Talsma is celebrating her 10-year writer’s anniversary this year and has been asked to write the Frisian gift book for the Boekewike. The gift book is free in the period from 6 to 14 March with the purchase of a Frisian book. With the broadcast, the organization wants to draw attention to the Frisian book, in order to accommodate readers and bookstores in Fryslân. The kick-off of the Fryske Boekewike is organized by Boeken fan Fryslân, in collaboration with Omrop Fryslân and cultural meeting place De Westerkerk in Leeuwarden.
