As a result of Tryater’s performance “1000 & 1 Night”, sixteen writers (amateur and professional) participated in the writing project “Cliffhangertje”, a program by Tryater Rûnom. In the spirit of the fairytale stories of 1000 & 1 Night, the writers have written parts of a story with a cliffhanger at the end. The story, written with pen and paper, came in an envelope and then it was forwarded by post. As soon as an envelope with stories came on the doorstep with the next writer, he or she had three days to write a sequel to the serial.

But doesn’t a story always continue after a cliffhanger? That is why the stories can be heard throughout July in three walking routes, because stories have to be told!

This is how it works

Three series of approximately five (Dutch/Frisian) stories can be heard in Leeuwarden. The routes with the starting points are on the Tryater site. All you need is a mobile with internet. Every story starts with a yellow sticker on the ground. There is a QR code on this sticker. You can scan this code with your mobile camera. Then you go to an online sound file and the story is read to you. Allow yourself to “cliffhang” through the city and discover (un)known places.
