33 poets recited poems at the Grutte Gedichtejûn (Great Poetry Evening) in the cozy Rode Loper in Leeuwarden January the 30th. Poet and poets of all ages performed in Dutch, Catalan, and of course, Frisian.
Well-known names, including Arjan Hut, Janneke Spoelstra, Gabriëlle Terpstra, and Elmar Kuiper, also took the stage. New talents also took to the stage, including Eelke Veltman, Sylke Kingma, and Piter Zijlstra. The poems were alternated with Frisian music by Mayte.
The 14th edition of the Grutte Gedichtejûn (Great Poetry Evening) was presented by Myrte Marije Veenbaas. The GGJ takes place every year on the Friday evening of poetry week; everyone is welcome, poets of all levels and in all languages.
