The Rely Jorritsmapriisfraach 2021 for Frisian stories and poems has been opened. It is the 67th time that the competition has been held. Those who want to have a chance can send in a story and / or poem. An independent jury assesses the entries anonymously and can reward a maximum of five stories and poems. Each winning story or poem will be rewarded with € 1000. You can enter until Sunday 9 May. The jury for 2021 is Inge Heslinga, Rianne Blokzijl and Beart Oosterhaven.

Rely Jorritsma (Jellum, 1905 – Nijmegen, 1952) wrote in his will that an annual competition must be held for the best five poems and the best five stories in the Frisian language. His wish has been fulfilled since 1954. Since 2018, the board of the Rely Jorritsma Fund is formed by b. and w. of Leeuwarden, the municipality of Rely’s hometown Jellum; the Stifting Frysk Letterkundich Museum and Dokumintaasjesintrum (FLMD) is organizes the contest.

Entries must be sent digitally as an attachment to ynfo@stiftingflmd.frl. Name, address and telephone number of the entrants must be stated in the email, but remain secret from the jury.
