Konijntje

A fragment was on a gift card
With a bouquet of sunflowers
Konijntje houdt van bergop
hop, stap, spring
sneller dan wie ook spurt-ie naar omhoog
Konijntje zet zijn oortjes recht: flip, flop
ver, ver weg is er gevaar
met gespitste lepeltjes vangt-ie het op
Konijntje vindt nageltjes knippen niet fijn
herinneringen aan zijn band met Moeder Natuur
vallen, nageltje na nageltje, van de aarde weg
Konijntje wordt niet graag vastgehouden
Ha, nu ben je gevangen!
Geef je over en wees stil!
Maar aaitjes met de palm van je hand vind ik fijn
zachtjes geaaid worden, daar ben ik niet tegen
uit de palm van je hand klinkt een stem: ‘’k vind je lief’
Konijntje is een klein en eenzaam wezentje
als zijn lijfje zwak wordt
doet-ie er alles aan om zijn ziekte te verbergen
Konijntje, konijntje,
Het is niet omdat ik zwak ben dat ik niet sterk ben
zwak zijn is wat je sterk maakt
Iedereen heeft, in zijn hart, een konijntje
Rie Muranaka
Rie Muranaka is born 1958 in Yamaguchi Prefecture. She created numerous picture books and other children’s literature.
After working as a professor at Notre Dame Seishin University, she became a visiting professor at Yamaguchi University of Arts and Sciences. After completing postgraduate studies, Muranaka began research on Bibliotherapy at the Department of Hospital Administration, Keio University School of Medicine. She considered the possibilities of communication through picture books with children in pediatric wards. Since then, she has continued to create children’s literature while reading picture books with various people in various places from the age of 0 to 100. In recent years, Rie Muranaka has been involved in creating educational programs in prisons using picture books as a bridge, and supporting communication between mothers and their children.
Awarded the 1st Japan Picture Book Research Award (2017）
Awarded the 45th Iwaya Sazanami Prize in recognition of her longstanding contribution to cultural and literary arts (2024)
