From November 21st to December 7th, the doors of the Zinnenfabriek in dbieb will be open! It’s a temporary poetry shop, run by City Poet Marrit Jellema. Marrit and her team of spoken-word artists will be ready to welcome you. They have a wide selection of poems for you to choose from! And if your poem isn’t quite there, they’ll create a custom one for you! A gift from the municipality of Leeuwarden to all residents.
You walk into dbieb and immediately see the pop-up shop at the entrance. It’s no ordinary shop. It feels a bit like stepping into a small, cheerful workshop where words are created while you watch.
Everywhere you’ll see cabinets and compartments full of short, surprising, and original poems. The topics are very diverse; from household items to beauty products, from food to clothing, from love for each other to love for our city. Everything is easy to discover and meant for everyone: young, old, experienced readers, or complete beginners.
At a table, the finishing touches are being put on a custom poem. City poet Marrit glances at you briefly from her paper and nods; then she’ll create one for you.
The Zinnenfabriek is a gift from the municipality of Leeuwarden to all residents. It’s the perfect place to pick up something personal, warm, and original this fall. Whether you’re looking for a gift, need a poem for Sinterklaas, or are simply curious: you’re very welcome. We’d love to show you how much language can be. The cost? You decide; pay-what-you-can! You give what feels right for you and what you can spare.

Friday 12:00 – 17:00
Saturday 12:00 – 17:00
