From 11 to 13 September, the poet collective RIXT is organizing its first writers weekend at Folkshegeskoalle Skylgeralân, Terschelling. During this weekend, poets from RIXT and the island come together to create new work. They will bring this to the stage on Saturday evening, September 12, during a joint performance.
Nine RIXT participants and six island poets will create poetry during “Waailân”. They will get inspiration from each other and from the environment. Edwin de Groot, chairman of the collective, will keep the weekend running smoothly.
The performance on September 12 will take place at the Folkshegeskoalle and will start at 8.30 pm. Admission is free, but registration is mandatory due to the limited capacity due to security measures.
The writers ‘weekend takes place in response to the collective poets’ wish to seek connections, to immerse themselves in each other’s poetry and to write and perform together.
