The successful lecture series “Spraakmakende boeken” (notable books) has become a regular element in the program of dbieb (the library of Leeuwarden). Each evening focuses on a different book. Leading specialists, many affiliated with the Faculty of Arts at the University of Groningen, discuss a literary work currently in high demand. You can attend the lectures even if you haven’t read the book yet. Please note: the lectures are in Dutch.
The lectures take place on Wednesday evenings, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The following books will be discussed:
26 November: Gilles van der Loo – Café Dorian
28 January: Han Kang – De vegetariër
4 March: Sally Rooney – Intermezzo
1 April: Jakub Małecki – Aangrenzende kleuren
20 May: Tove Ditlevsen – Vilhelms kamer
10 June: Esther Gerritsen – Gebied 19 & Yorick Goldewijk – Duizend & ik
