At the beginning of this year, the Frisian literary magazine Ensafh called for very short stories of a maximum of 250 words to be submitted. With result, because with 39 stories submitted, it can be said that the short story is alive. At the “Lange koartproazajûn” on November 27, all prize-winning stories will be presented, as will the jury report. The Poet of Friesland, Nyk de Vries, will also give a performance.

The jury, consisting of Gerbrich de Jong, Nyk de Vries and Anne Feddema, awarded a total of 14 stories. The winners are: Anneke Augusteijn, Ytsje Hettinga, Trevor Scarse, Friduwih Riemersma, Henk Wolf, Berber Spliethoff, Johannes Dijkman, Baukje Zijlstra, Elske Kampen, Amarens Hibma, Bregtje Sijtsma, Elmar Kuiper, Sipke de Schiffart and Angelique van der Veen. The stories of the last seven writers have been declared by the jury as the very best short stories that will be published in the November issue of Ensafh.

Corona update November 3

Of the fourteen winning stories, the seven very best would be both read aloud on November 27 and appear in the sixth issue of magazine Ensafh. The other seven would only be presented live. Now that the evening cannot take place due to the corona measures, it has been decided to print all fourteen stories in the last Ensafh issue of this year. Perhaps as soon as Corona has left the country, a new date will be sought to give the short stories the stage they deserve.
