For six months now, writers, translators, visual artists, composers and musicians have offered a (free) residence opportunity in Gorredijk, in “Het Utopa Huis”. The Utopa Foundation, which manages the house, inherited the farm from artist Xandrien van Thiel a few years ago.
The house has four bedrooms (and is therefore also suitable for small music ensembles that want to rehearse) and has a living area of 315 m2. The house is fully equipped, the large garden of 3,000 m2 is maintained.
Het Utopa Huis offers work periods ranging from two weeks to three months. An application can only be submitted by artists who have worked professionally for at least two years. It is possible to apply throughout the year (in Dutch or English). Applications will be assessed at least once per quarter.
