On Friday June 12, Leeuwarden City of Literature presented three Frisian poets, who recited from brand new work. It was a very successful evening where the attendees enjoyed the atmosphere, the poetry and a dinner.

Former city poet and current “Wâld” poet Arjan Hut (1976) went to Malta in the Cultural Capital Year 2018. There it was rumored that this was the first time he left Leeuwarden since 1991. His discoveries and experiences are echoed in his new (fifth) collection of poetry “Fjoertoer yn it Wâld” (lighthouse in the forest). Elmar Kuiper (1969) writes Frisian and Dutch poems and theater texts. He is also a visual artist, singer and filmmaker. The poetry in his new collection “Wite Mûle, Swarte Molke” (white mouth, black milk) is more direct and also more confrontational than before. Sigrid Kingma (1989) studied Dutch and Frisian and made her debut in 2016 with her poetry collection “Reade triedleas / Red wireless”. Recently she was inspired for 11 new poems by the 11 fountains (placed in the Frisian cities in 2018).
