The first schools have registered for the free literary curriculum and the performance of Nyk de Vries as Poet of Fryslân. On Tuesday, September 22, the Poet of Fryslân will give a performance at Terra Wolvega.
With his teaching program, “De Dichter van Fryslân” (poet of Fryslân) answers the question why literature and poetry can be so beautiful. “Literature and poetry is all about yourself, about your own life. About people your own age, in the same cities and towns, with the same questions and desires. “
“De Dichter van Fryslân” offers three different teaching programs on poetry and literature for secondary schools in Fryslân. The training programs are suitable for larger and smaller groups and all three consist of a performance and lesson in one.
Nyk de Vries brings (largely) his own story in an accessible and humorous way. A story about his own high school years – as a construction worker son from a family where literature could not be taken for granted. He talks about his own pleasures and insecurities at the time, about being in love, about having expectations and especially about how he came into contact with writing and literature during those years.
