“De Nationale Voorleesdagen” (The National Reading Days) will take place for the 18th time from 20 to 30 January. With this annual campaign, extra attention is paid to reading to children from zero to six years old. A permanent feature is the Picture Book of the Year. This year it’s “Coco kan het!” (Coco can do it), Written and illustrated by Loes Riphagen.

Especially now that many families are at home together because of corona, reading is important. The Picture Book of the Year 2021 and the nine other books from the Picture Book Top 10 provide extra inspiration. The National Reading Days start on Wednesday 20 January with The National Reading Breakfast.

Normally teachers get teaching and craft ideas, this year you can find them yourself – in addition to the Picture Book Top 10 – on the website of De Nationale Voorleesdagen.
