In 2023, Jetske Bilker received the highest literary award in Fryslân for her Frisian-language novel Spegel and probe: the Gysbert Japicx Prize. The presentation of the Dutch translation will take place on Friday 18 October. The artwork that is traditionally part of winning the prize will also be unveiled that afternoon. Everyone is welcome at this festive afternoon, during which Jetske Bilker and colleague Vrouwkje Tuinman will be interviewed by journalist Kirsten van Santen. In the work of both writers, themes such as love, old age and dementia pass by.

During the short and varied program, Jetske Bilker will also read from her award-winning book and Vrouwkje Tuinman will give a short lecture. Artist Mark Bunder briefly explains the portrait he has made.
