During the LUNA Leeuwarden Urban Night Adventure (26-28 November, Leeuwarden) the result of a special, international collaboration in which Leeuwarden UNESCO City of Literature is involved can be seen. The German light and projection artists Detlef Hartung and Georg Trenz, together with the Frisian author and architect Grytsje Schaaf, developed the highly current work KONTAKT especially for the courtyard of the Fryske Akademie.

On the basis of projected words in Frisian and Dutch, KONTAKT deals with the changing meaning of contacts through COVID-19. Light, space, architecture, nature, people and language come into contact with each other in form and content and change themselves and their environment.

About LUNA

During LUNA, Leeuwarden is again enveloped in colorful light in the evening. Take an enchanting walk through the center and experience a dazzling selection of fascinating international light and sound art at various locations in the city. The name LUNA refers to the moon – the festival takes place after dark. It is therefore ensured that “the festival site”, the city center of Leeuwarden, is darker than normal. As much public lighting as possible is switched off. Then the art stands out at its best and the festival becomes a true nighttime adventure in the city.

About Grytsje Schaaf

Grytsje Schaaf (1979) is an architect, teacher and poet. She regularly publishes her poems and gives lectures, in which she often combines her poetry with soundscapes and performance. Spaciousness is a recurring theme in her work, both in terms of content and physical form.
