They are delighted to host a online poetry writing workshop with Preston Losack, the host of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/shows.acast.com\/prestonspoetrypodcast\/episodes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Preston&#8217;s Poetry Podcast<\/a>, on wednesday September 17 7:00-8:30 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Join Preston as we look closely at poems from a technical and formal point of view, using our newly gained understanding of these poems to develop how we write, how we edit and how we read. We&#8217;ll marking up poems and breaking them down to recognise patterns and investigate how and why the form matches the content \u2013 before using this knowledge to write our own poems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preston Losack (b. 1991, Dallas) used to live in a monastery, and that affected his way he lives his life and writes today outside the cloister. He finds the sublime in ordinary things and has a huge drive to inspire people in his community to love humanity and value authentic connection as deeply as he does. Writing poetry is often a fitting instrument to do this. He cherishes the canon in some ways, but he is committed in his work to making that canon more inclusive and accessible. That\u2019s why he started Preston\u2019s Poetry Podcast, with the aim of tearing down barriers to reading and writing poetry.
