On 4 and 5 October, poet Tsead Bruinja, musician Zea and photographer Rosa van Ederen and guest poet Frank Keizer visited care center Het Bildt in Sint Annaparochie. They made personal portraits with and for the ladies Balt-Brouwer and Van der Veen-Krol and the gentlemen Wassenaar and Teeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tsead about the visit to Het Bildt: “It was a special edition of Portraits in Poetry with family and old acquaintances, including Frank Keizer’s 100-year-old grandmother and an old acquaintance of Tsead. Klaske van der Veen-Krol used to be, with her husband Oege and their daughter Marianne, who can often be found at neighbor Jerre aan de Heechfinne in Rinsumageest. At the time they drove there with the pony and the caravan to camp next to the farm for a few nights. Klaske and Tsead had been together for 40 years not seen and had a lot to talk about. Arnold worked with former marine worker Rinze Wassenaar who after a half-sided paralysis managed to play the trumpet again. The whole hall sang along with Rinze during the closing presentation and enjoyed the beautiful photos that Rosa took, including of a bench that has a special meaning for Mrs Balt-Brouwer, as it stands on the spot where her mother’s farm used to be. When he passed away, she often came to the bench to think of him. The welcome was great again, including the meatball, the pancakes and the double custard. We also really enjoyed the mix of Frisian, Dutch and Bildts during our visit.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
