A poem by city poet Marrit Jellema can now be read at the windows of Pavilion Obe at the Oldehoofsterkerkhof in Leeuwarden. It is the second part, 21, of the poem No ode without pain<\/em>. The poem can be read in three languages: Dutch, Frisian and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No ode without pain<\/em> is an ode to Leeuwarden that does not hide the dark sides of the city. The poem involves two personal snapshots. In the second part, Marrit Jellema describes how she learned to feel at home in Leeuwarden at the age of 21. Arjan Hut translated the poem into Frisian, Preston Losack into English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentation at Obe

On Monday, June 24, Marrit Jellema and alderman Hein Kuiken (culture, gemeente Leeuwarden) presented the poem at the visitor center of Visit Leeuwarden in pavilion Obe. Translators Arjan Hut and Preston Losack were also there. The design is by BW H Ontwerpers, the text was applied by Haan Reclamewerken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
