The successful lecture series \u201cSpraakmakende boeken\u201d (notable books) has become a regular element in the program of dbieb (the library of Leeuwarden). Each evening focuses on a different book. Leading specialists, many affiliated with the Faculty of Arts at the University of Groningen, discuss a literary work currently in high demand. You can attend the lectures even if you haven’t read the book yet. Please note: the lectures are in Dutch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lectures take place on Wednesday evenings, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The following books will be discussed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

29 October: William Golding \/ Aim\u00e9e de Jongh – Lord of the Flies \/ Heer van de vliegen  
26 November: Gilles van der Loo – Caf\u00e9 Dorian  
28 January: Han Kang – De vegetari\u00ebr  
4 March: Sally Rooney – Intermezzo
1 April: Jakub Ma\u0142ecki – Aangrenzende kleuren  
20 May: Tove Ditlevsen – Vilhelms kamer
