There is a new literary prize for young people: the Tony Feitsmapriis. It is a prize for poetry and prose (stories and essays). The prize is a joint initiative of the Feitsma Fund, the Federation of Frisian Student Associations and the literary magazine Ensafh. The competition is open to young people and young adults up to the age of 29. The aim of the prize is primarily to promote creative writing in Frisian.
The Tony Feitsmapriis 2025 will be awarded at the Christmas Congress of the Federation of Frisian Student Associations in Franeker on December 29. This year’s theme is landscape. There are three prizes for the winners, which consist of a certificate and an amount of € 100. Submissions can be made until 1 December 2025. To help with creative writing, a workshop will be offered for aspiring participants on 12 November at 7:00 p.m. by Hein Jaap Hilarides in the Bernlef society, Tuinstraat 22, Groningen. The winners will have the opportunity to publish their contribution in Ensafh and receive guidance.
Entries and instructions for the workshop can be sent via the email address: tonyfeitsmapriis@federaasje.frl, with the contribution under a pseudonym and stating name, pseudonym, address, age and mini-c.v. in an accompanying email.
