Leeuwarden alderman for Culture, Hein Kuiken, presented the Rely Jorritsma Prizes Award Ceremony on Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2025, at the Mammemahûs theater church in Jellum. Forty stories and 50 poems were submitted for the Rely Jorritsma Prize, now in its 71st year.
Gertrud Palstra won the prize for her story “Blineman,” Sytse Jansma for his story “Psych Aid,” and Gerrit Hoekstra for his story “In Simmerjûn yn Seachlym.” The winners for the poems are: Pim Rodenboog for “Meiboartsje,” Fedde Douwes Dijkstra for “Refleksje,” and Tryntsje van der Steege for “De swimmers.”
The jury report and the winning poems and stories are included in the special Rely issue of the Frisian literary magazine Ensafh (volume 17, number 5, 2025, available soon via info@hispel.nl and for sale in the Afûk bookstore).
The prize is organized by the Stifting Frysk Letterkundich Museum and Dokumintaasjesintrum (FLMD).
