Poetry Saturday is Drachten’s poetry event, a welcoming, inclusive place where word artists and poetry lovers come together. From beginner to experienced, from Dutch to jabbertalk, from experiment to classic: everything is welcome.
Every edition is different and unpredictable. Sometimes the café is buzzing with lively energy, sometimes an intimate circle of quiet listeners forms. Artists perform from their work, the audience joins in via open mic, and literary surprises happen that you didn’t see coming.
This time there’s Bella and a mystery guest among others. Useless Boxen and Poet Guessing are also on the programme: poetry in a playful way. Collections from the participating artists are available for purchase.
