On May 5th, the books come alive in an online edition of the Human Library event in cooperation with the Fries Verzetsmuseum. Extraordinary titles await you between 7pm and 9pm for an inspiring talk. In this library, though, you don’t loan books – you loan people.
Interesting people. With their own views of freedom or how we can celebrate our freedom. People who didn’t always live in freedom as eyewitnesses or kin to the suffering of the Second World War. In the Human Library, you are free to ask or discuss anything. In open conversation, these living books tell their life stories.
Because of the Corona crisis, the Fries Verzetsmuseum organized the Human Library as a digital event. They also want to connect the right people with each other in this time. One on one, where you can look each other in the eye and learn from each other.
On May 5th, the following ‘living books’ are ready for loan: Asexual, Autism, BDSM, Holocaust victims, Iranian Dance Instructor, Jews, Muslims, Polyamorous, Wheelchair-user, Transgender, Veteran, and Suicide Attempt. A number of them can also be seen in the exhibition Vrijheid Anno Nu. You may already sign up for an interview free of charge. You will have a nice little present delivered to your home.
