Henk Rigter presents his book Dwars door Afrika (Across Africa) at Van der Velde Boeken in Leeuwarden. He talks about how he and two friends made an unforgettable road trip from Europe to South Africa in a rickety van. He’s even bringing the van to the shop!
What began as a three-month journey grew into an epic three-year adventure. When Henk was offered a job in South Africa, he decided to drive there with two friends. During their journey they faced extreme situations, unexpected setbacks and remarkable encounters. They adopted a dog, became involved in charities, ended up in prison multiple times and even survived a confrontation with a crocodile.
